Spring Lipo Season

Liposuction is the most common cosmetic procedure in the United States. Liposuction also known as lipoplasty is a procedure that is used to remove unwanted fat from specific areas of the body. This procedure reshapes the body’s silhouette. You are a great candidate for liposuction if you have some smaller areas of fat that is unresponsive to diet and exercise. It is also important that patients and in good physical and emotional conditions, you have firm and elastic skin, and that each patient have realistic expectations.
During your initial consultation, you will meet directly with your cosmetic surgery Los Angeles specialist and the consultant. During this consultation you will discuss your medical history, any previous surgeries, medications you are currently taking, and you overall physical health. The surgeon will then evaluate your skin; photos may be taken at this time for medical record. Recovery time, risks, limitations that are associated with the surgery will also be discussed at this time. After the consultation the patient coordinator will discuss fees, and scheduling with you. Once you decide upon a date you will be advised to get standard blood tests completed. For men it will be a blood work, and for a women blood work and a pregnancy test.
Liposuction is an outpatient procedure. It is important that you arrange for someone to pick you up from surgery and stay with you that night. The surgery will take between one to two hours depending on how much fat is to be removed. You will then spend two hours in the recovery room. You are not on bed rest. It is important to walk around once you return home. You will want to take five to seven days off from work or school.
